  Anxiety States and Panic Attacks

Stress

Do you feel in control of situations most of the time? Are you confident of your abilities? Can you “switch off” when you get home? Do you have a positive outlook on life or do you dwell on negative thoughts, words and actions? Are you calm and thoughtful or quick to anger and “lose it”.

Stress can affect anyone. It’s effects impair our capacity to live life to the full and, for some highly stressed individuals, may contribute to an early death. Stress looms over mankind like a modern version of the plague.

So, how do we deal with stress levels in our lives? Usually we don’t! We either ignore it, let it get worse or try to ease it with alcohol. Unfortunately, because it is such an intangible thing, most people have little idea where to start. Sometimes it’s possible to remove stressors by changing your job or moving away from nightmare neighbours but in reality it is seldom that simple.

By changing negative thought patterns and learning to relax, both physically and mentally, you can avoid stress-related problems. Learning to relax is one of the first things to do. Relaxation training means learning the skill of muscular and mental “letting go” and is very beneficial in many ways – more energy, reduced pain, quicker healing, improved relationships with others, better sleep, more able to cope the strains of life, encourages peace of mind.

By using a combination of stress awareness training, hypnosis, relaxation training, stress management techniques and using follow up CDs regularly, we can work together to increase your ability to cope. As you become more relaxed you develop a more rational attitude and view on life and you are an easier person to be around. All this takes time – it won’t happen overnight. So be prepared to practise until you achieve your objectives.

Anxiety States and Panic Attacks

Living with anxiety is physically and emotionally draining and undermines our ability to cope with life’s challenges. Periods of stress can then precipitate an underlying anxiety state into panic attacks. The intensity and frequency of these attacks varies from person to person and even the fear of having a panic attack can bring one on. Severe panic attacks can be very distressing and debilitating.

Fortunately these states are effectively treated using hypnosis and EFT. A combination of hypnotic relaxation, regular listening to hypnosis CDs and a range of stress management techniques can be enough to alleviate the symptoms. More usually however, working on the underlying causes of the anxiety in regression (through hypnosis) or with EFT is the most effective method of curing the problem.
